Florian builds, leads and runs Süddeutsche Zeitung’s newest family member: Dossier, a new newsletter-based information service at the intersection of policy and politics.
As a part-time professor, he teaches journalism at the Florence School of Transnational Governance, the European University Institute’s public policy school.
Before joining SZ, Florian was Executive Editor, Germany, a member of POLITICO Europe’s newsroom leadership, and co-founder of the publication. He authored Brussels Playbook, the flagship morning briefing for all things Brussels and EU, for more than three years.
Prior to joining POLITICO as a Managing Editor in 2015, Florian was EU correspondent for DIE WELT, covering EU affairs from Brussels. He spent three years in DIE WELT’s Berlin newsroom as an editor and previously worked as Italy correspondent.
