Born in 1966 in the Germany city Munden, Sven Gösmann, has been chief editor at dpa since 2014.
He began his career at the “Braunschweiger Zeitung”. After completing his studies in Political Science in Berlin, he worked for several different news agencies: the “Berliner Morgenpost”, die “Welt”, as a national correspondent for the “Braunschweiger Zeitung”, the “Weser-Kurier” in Hanover and as head of politics for “Welt am Sonntag”. He then served as Politics and Economic deputy editor for “Bild Zeitung”. In 2005 he became chief editor at “Rheinischen Post” in Dusseldorf. He joined the German Press Agency in 2014.
