Hamza is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Vienna researching the interchange between culture, politics and journalistic identities.

He is also the Co-Founder of 9 news, which is Pakistan’s first user contributed and automated news aggregation service. He has recently launched Mews Austria in 2021 to offer English-language cultural, political and health news to internationals in Austria on social media.

Previously, Hamza has worked in the media sector at 92 News as a research associate during the Pakistani election in 2018. Hamza holds a Master’s in Global Media from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor’s in Business and Finance from Brunel University.

Other than the educational and professional path, he has been an active participant in social activities. As such, he worked in collaboration with the UNODC to research Anti-Corruption initiatives in Africa. He is based in Vienna, Austria and in his free time he likes to travel, read, and play football.
