Florentin Siegert (25) is currently doing a doctorate in Potsdam on the role of the Bundestag in Germany’s involvement in Afghanistan.

He studied politics and history in Bamberg, Potsdam and Dublin. Previously, he worked as an advisor in the Bundestag and was responsible for the topic of maritime economy. He is chairman of the association youmocracy, which works nationwide to strengthen a culture of open and respectful debate. Before that he was a representative of the scholarship holders of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and organized several seminars for the foundation in Germany and abroad.

The M100 Workshop helped me to find out what else I can do for my country when it comes to the Journalism. The M100 workshop in Potsdam was a great professional experience. In the next years I longed for a similar opportunity for informal learning, hands-on journalistic practice and the opportunity for deep discussions.
