Ulrik Haagerup is founder and CEO of Constructive Institute at Aarhus University since 2017.

After a carrier as Investigative journalist and a Knight Fellow from Stanford University, USA, Mr Haagerup became editor-in-chief of the Danish Newspapers, Jyllands-Posten and NORDJYSKE Media and for 10 years he was Èxecutive Director of News at the national Public Broadcaster DR. He is the former chairman of The Journalism Center at University of Southern Denmark.

He was a member of World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council for the Future of Journalism 2009. Author of “Constructive News” from 2017 and “A Good Idea – Did You Get It?” from 2005.
Public speaker on media and democracy, the future of journalism, leadership and innovation.

Ulrik Haagerup received the Cavling Award (The Danish equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize) in 1990 and was awarded a knighthood by the Danish Queen Margrethe II in 2015.
Married with three children and lives outside Aarhus.
