Tamina Kutscher is editor in chief of dekoder.org, an award winning German online plattform, that translates Russian and Belarussian independent journalism and combines it with academic expertise in Russian and Belarusian Studies. Since November 2019, dekoder.org/ru is translating German language media into Russian.
Before, she has been working six years as an editor at n-ost, the Berlin based journalist network for reporting on Eastern Europe. As a project leader she has been responsible for n-ost’s research and media projects in several Eastern European countries, a.o. in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus; joint projects with the German Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) and GIZ led her to Central Asia. She holds a M.A. in history and Slavic Studies (studies in Regensburg, Kazan and Berlin) and has been a guest lecturer at the Department of Slavonic Studies/Humboldt-University, Berlin.
