María Ramírez is currently deputy managing editor and international correspondent of elDiario.es, from Spain, and contributor to The Guardian Opinion section. Her latest book is ‘El periódico’ (Penguin Random House, 2022), about the impact of the digital revolution in Europe and the U.S.
Previously she worked as a correspondent and political reporter in New York, Brussels and Milan. She co-founded two news startups in Spain. She was a Nieman fellow at Harvard University and a Pritzker fellow at University of Chicago Institute of Politics. She received a Fulbright scholarship and graduated from Columbia University School of Journalism.
