Kay Meseberg

Kay Meseberg, born in Bad Belzig, has been Head of Mission Innovation since 2018 and works on the TV of after tomorrow which includes subjects such as data/AI, immersive media, eco-responsibility.

He studied political sciences at the University of Potsdam and graduating with a Diplom. Parallel to his career in television, he has been involved since the late nineties in conceiving and implementing numerous award-winning online projects and building platforms.

He moved to ARTE in 2013, where he developed the platform ARTE Future and later joined the editorial board of the magazine SQUARE IDEE. Following the success of Polar Sea 360°, he continued exploring content from a 360° video and virtual reality perspective.

Numerous distinctions, including three Grimme Online Awards, Deutscher Reporter-preis, two times Deutscher Wirtschaftsfilmpreis, LEAD Award, French-German Journalism Award.
Kay is also Ambassador of Innovation at the IMZ in Vienna, cofounded by UNESCO, innovation expert at the french cinema center CNC, member of the board of the association for cultural and creative industry Accro. He held masterclasses, keynotes, lectures, participated on panel discussions at universities like Yale, UCL, FAMU, La Fémis, Filmakademie Ludwigsburg, ZHDK, CAFA, Tongji University and conferences such as SXSW, IEEE, WCSFP and Media Convention.

He published with Regina Kaplan Rakowski in 2019: Immersive Media and their Future, a chapter in the Yearbook of Educational Technology and Media, Springer and participated in 2019 in the Revue „La FEMIS present“: „La Femis Présente : La réalité virtuelle, une question d’immersion ?”, published in 2018 for Lookie Lookie Magazin the article „About Being“ and published in 2012 „Von Smartphone zum Smart TV“ in Medienwandel Kompakt 2011-2013, Springer.
