Anna Clauß, born in 1981 in Tübingen, is a multi-award-winning political journalist and book author. She has been head of the opinion and debate department at the news magazine DER SPIEGEL since 2021.
Prior to that, she worked for eight years as Bavaria correspondent in SPIEGEL’s Munich office. In 2021, the year of the Bundestag elections, she published a biography of Bavaria’s Minister President: “Söder – Die andere Biographie”. Anna Clauß’s columns deal with feminist issues and questions of work/career balance as well as the political news of the day.
Clauß studied cultural studies in Passau, attended the German School of Journalism in Munich and worked for the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” and Bavarian Radio before joining SPIEGEL.
