Sabine Sasse has been project manager of the international media conference M100 Sanssouci Colloquium in Potsdam since 2007.

In between, she served as managing director of the non-profit United Europe from 2017 to 2020, before returning to the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium after a brief interstation at Media Pioneer.

She has worked as a freelance journalist for many years (including for Tagesspiegel, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Woche and Stern) and was head of various projects in the cultural sector.

At the same time, today’s prize is an appeal to all persons who hold positions of responsibility in governments, in culture and in the media: be steadfast, value-oriented and also COURAGEOUS when irresponsible persons and powers undermine or relativise our values of freedom.
