Born 1937 in Prague. In 1948 he moved with his family to Austria. In 1965 he took over the inheritance of his uncle Heinrich. After the death of his other uncle Joseph he became internal head of the Schwarzenberg family and united in his person the two lines (Primogenitur and Sekundogenitur) of the family. He became involved in human rights at an international level at an early age. From 1984 to 1991 he was President of the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights. After the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia and the election of Václav Havel as President of the Republic, Schwarzenberg served from 1990 to 1992 as his office manager entitled Chancellor. Schwarzenberg was Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic from 2007 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2013. He is one of the most popular Czech politicians. Schwarzenberg is married and has three adult children.
