M100 organises Reporter Slam in Potsdam for the first time

Stage show with six international journalists on 11 September in Potsdam’s FreiLand

On Wednesday 11 September, Germany’s most entertaining stage show with journalists will be premiering in Potsdam: the Reporter Slam. Six reporters from different European countries will put themselves and their reports to the judgement of the audience at Potsdam’s freiLand cultural centre. Who can best present their own reportage, talk about their research and captivate the audience? The use of photos, videos, music, etc. is expressly permitted.
At the end, the audience will choose the new Slam champion. He or she will qualify for next year’s final in Berlin in January.

The event starts at 8pm, doors open at 7pm. Tickets are available at the door or in advance here.

Special Talk: Europe in the Shadow of the US Elections

In co-operation with POLITICO
Thursday, 12 September 2024, 17.30 – 18.30h (CET), as part of the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium, Livestream

The US election on 5 November is a fateful one. It will have a lasting impact not only on the politics of the United States, but also on the security architecture of Europe and the world. And it will determine the future of both Ukraine and the transatlantic partnership. However, despite many warnings, neither Germany nor the EU seem to be really prepared for a possible second term for Donald Trump. And Kamala Harris’s foreign policy agenda remains unclear. What does a possible President Trump or a possible President Harris mean for Europe and the Ukraine? And how does Ukraine view the US elections?

We discuss this the day after the last TV duel between the two presidential candidates in the Orangery Sanssouci with Adam Jasser (Deputy Director for News, TVP World, Poland), Tanit Koch (Journalist, The New European, Germany), Jonathan Martin (Politics Bureau Chief and Senior Political Columnist POLITICO, USA), and Olga Rudenko (Editor-in-Chief The Kyiv Independent, Ukraine).
Moderation: Gordon Repinski (Executive Editor of POLITICO in Germany)

Indispensable Voices for our democratic free Society

“Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu and Donald Tusk are indispensable voices for our democratic free society in these challenging times. They are trailblazers for a modern and stable Europe. Vjosa Osmani has demonstrated determination and foresight in advocating for the young democracy in a region long marked by conflict, showing the critical importance of safeguarding freedom and justice. Donald Tusk represents an unwavering fight against autocracy and the non-negotiable nature of democratic values. Both – Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu and Donald Tusk – place human rights and democratic principles at the core of their actions. Their voices are invaluable right now – not only for their countries but for the entire continent. They are not just committed Europeans, but above all, compelling ones. Their work sets standards and inspires.”
Mike Schubert, Lord Mayor of the State Capital of Potsdam and Chair of the M100 Advisory Board
