New Tasks for Christian Rainer

10 February 2022. M100 Advisory Board member Dr Christian Rainer has led the Austrian news magazine “profil” as both editor-in-chief and publisher for the last 25 years. This makes him by far the longest serving editor-in-chief of a news media in the German-speaking world. At the end of February, Rainer, who is a passionate skier, sailor and diver and nephew of the Austrian painter Arnulf Rainer, announced his decision to leave the publishing house.

“After a quarter of a century in the same job, I want to take on new, exciting challenges once again,” he says. “And I’m looking forward to having more time for M100.” We are happy about that too!

At the same time, today’s prize is an appeal to all persons who hold positions of responsibility in governments, in culture and in the media: be steadfast, value-oriented and also COURAGEOUS when irresponsible persons and powers undermine or relativise our values of freedom.
