How The Fix Media supports Ukranian journalists and media

Online Discussion with Zakhar Protsiuk, Co-Founder and Managing Editor of The Fix Media, Ukraine

Since Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February, the team of The Fix, which has deep roots in Ukraine, has mobilised all possible resources to support their colleagues in the Ukrainian media industry.

The Fix was one of the first organisations which started collecting donations to support Ukrainian media such as Hromadske.tv, the Kyiv Independent or Ukrayinska Pravda to secure free, independent media and reporting in and about Ukraine.

To date, The Fix has raised approx. 3+ million euros in support for the Ukrainian media sector overall, both via GoFundMe and directly.

In our digital event, Zakhar Protsiuk, who still lives and works in Kyiv, talks about the founding and background of The Fix Media, how they raise money, to whom they distribute it and according to what criteria, and how his life and the lives of his colleagues have changed since 24 February.

The discussion is moderated by Christoph Lanz, member of the M100 Advisory Board.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 8 June 2022, 18.00 hrs (CET), on Zoom.

Please register by 3 June at events@m100potsdam.org.
