Journalist, media manager, think-tanker. For over 20 years he has shaped Poland’s mediascape in various capacities. As editor-in-chief at Newsweek, Forbes and Bloomberg Businessweek, he has been the catalyst for implementing the highest professional and ethical standards into Poland’s media. He has managed enhanced editorial teams, guided them through the processes of mergers and restructuring, characteristic for the turbulent years of the industry. After a successful career in journalism, he joined the think-tank world to head up the Warsaw office as one of the most prominent US policy centers. The Atlantic Council, based in Washington D.C., promotes constructive leadership and engagement in international affairs based on the Atlantic Community’s central role in meeting global challenges. In this capacity, Michał Kobosko is responsible for the development of the Council’s operations in Central and Eastern Europe. He is director of the Wrocław Global Forum, an annual conference, which convenes over 400 leaders within government, business, media and civil society who shape the business and political agenda for a forward-thinking Europe interested in creating stronger transatlantic ties.
