Sven Gösmann

Sven Gösmann (born 1966) is editor-in-chief of dpa Deutsche Presse-Agentur GmbH, Germany’s leading wire service. He studied political science in Berlin, Germany, and started his career as a journalist at the regional newspaper Braunschweiger Zeitung. In Berlin, he worked as an editor for the newspapers Berliner Morgenpost and Die Welt. In Hanover, the capital of the state of Lower Saxony, he was a state house correspondent for the regional newspapers Braunschweiger Zeitung and Weser Kurier. After he moved back to Berlin, he was head of the politics editors team at the weekly newspaper Welt am Sonntag and Deputy-Editor-in-chief of the national tabloid paper Bild. In 2005, Sven Gösmann became editor-in-chief of Rheinische Post, a regional newspaper in Dusseldorf. At the beginning of 2014, he again moved back to Berlin to become dpa’s editor-in-chief.
