Christoph Singelnstein, born in 1955 in Greifswald, studied from 1977 to 1982 theatre science at the theatre academy “Hans-Otto” in Leipzig, Germany. Previously, he worked as a stage technician for the German Theatre in Berlin for three years.

In 1982, Christoph Singelnstein worked as a cultural editor for the broadcasting of the GDR for one year. From 1983 to 1990 war er dramaturge and producer for radio play for the broadcasting of the GDR. In August 1990, he was appointed to the managing director of the broadcasting of the GDR.

The chief editorship of Radio Brandenburg, the programme for culture and information of the East German Broadcasting Brandenburg (ORB), was taken over by Christoph Singelnstein in 1991. In 1996, he became editor-in-chief of Landeswelle Antenne Brandenburg of the former ORB and today’s rbb based in in Potsdam-Babelsberg, Germany. In 2009, Singelnstein became editor-in-chief and deputy programme director of rbb in the newly founded multimedia programme direction.
