Sabine Schicketanz

Editor-in-Chief
Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten
Germany

Sabine Schicketanz, born in Berlin in 1977, has been writing for “Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten” for more than 20 years.

As an intern, she had researched her first reports there. Before her traineeship, she attended the German School of Journalism in Munich but returned to Potsdam ahead of schedule. She first worked as a local editor, then headed the Potsdam editorial office for ten years – and learned: The core of journalism lies in the local.

In mid-2014, Sabine Schicketanz was promoted to editor-in-chief of “Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten”, which belongs to the Tagesspiegel Group. She focuses on political local journalism, on high-quality local reporting, also from the fields of science and culture. Schicketanz is responsible for the digital change in the editorial department, is committed to media education in schools, diversity in journalism, better compatibility of family and career and is a member of the advisory board of the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium. Schicketanz is the mother of two daughters and lives in Potsdam.
