Frederik Fischer is founding and chief editor of piqd and managing board member of Vocer, Germany’s leading media innovation think tank. He’s teaching digital journalism at the university of arts in Berlin and at Hamburg Media School. Next to his career in journalism he’s involved in exploring new ways of living and working in rural areas with his startup KoDorf. KoDörfer (Co-Villages) consist of around 50 small houses as well as shared spaces like a coworking space, a cinema and a community kitchen. KoDörfer are being built at several locations throughout Germany and are emblematic for a new, sustainable and mindful approach to digitization. Frederik is helping rural communities in conceptualizing and implementing their digitization strategies.
