Medienboard CEO Helge Jürgens on supporting the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium

28 August 2023. We would like to thank the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, which has been a strong partner of the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium from the very beginning. The Medienboard ensures the national and international presentation and profiling of Berlin-Brandenburg as a film and media location, up-to-date location information, cross-border and cross-sector networking of the film and media industry and supports the settlement of film and media companies. As media-related location projects, the Medienboard promotes measures for the development, professionalisation and presentation of Berlin-Brandenburg as a film and media location.

Alexandra Borchardt on the reasons to present the M100 Media Award to #WomenLifeFreedom

21 August 2023. M100 Advisory Board member Prof. h.c. Dr Alexandra Borchardt, senior journalist, book author, lecturer, media consultant, on the decision to honour the #WomenLifeFreedom Movement of Iran with this year’s M100 Media Award:

“These women and their supporters probably know that their commitment will not end well for them personally. Yet they risk everything so that future generations can live in freedom and dignity. I salute their courage and commitment to a better world.”

M100YEJ: Friedrich Steffes-lay, 27, Germany

18 August 2023. Friedrich Steffes-lay is “Head of social media” at the German daily newspaper DIE WELT, where he regularly writes about pop culture, politics and society. About climate reporting he says: “In my eyes, climate change is not an issue where journalism needs to change completely. But it is an issue where it must perform at its best. Journalism can be alarmist, but it should not panic. Journalism should explain, but not lecture. Despite the challenges, I would like to see a sober view of the facts and problems and, ideally, possible solutions.
